Introduction

We all have an impact on the environment, and we all need to do our bit. Every time you drive a car, turn on a light bulb, or do anything else that uses energy from fossil fuels you add to greenhouse gas emissions that add to climate change. Every time you turn on the tap, you are using a valuable resource. Every time you throw something away, instead of recycling it, you are creating greenhouse gases. In West Sussex, to show that everyone can make a difference, we are challenging people to pledge to reduce their impact by 10%.

The average UK household releases about 10 tonnes of Greenhouse gasses in to the atmosphere every year. The Challenge asks each individual to reduce your impact by just 10%, because together your contributions will add up and make a real difference.

What's In It For You?

Saying you want to be counted as one of the growing number of people taking the 10% Challenge is also saying that you want to:

  • Save money
  • Help fight climate change
  • Improve our air quality
  • Protect the environment
