West Sussex Tory MPs link up to Beat Climate Change

They say MPs and hot air go together like toast and butter, but a group of West Sussex Tories pledged to limit the amount they generate in Chichester last Friday.

Queuing up to learn about the 10 per cent Challenge, West Sussex County Council’s energy saving initiative, they took to two wheels, extolled the virtues of compost-makers, and totted up the numbers of energy-saving light bulbs in their homes.

Party chairman Frances Maude and Nicholas Soames admitted to being keen compost makers, Peter Bottomley and Tim Loughton tried out the County Council’s bikes and Nick Gibb and Nick Herbert listed the green measures they take at home.

The 10 per cent Challenge website, which has had more than 1600 hits since it was set up in January.
